Hump-Day Quickie: Waffle Iron Potatoes!

We at A Book of Cookrye have not been endowed with a lot of extra time lately. Nevertheless, everyone must eat. With that in mind, we asked ourselves "Do we really have to wait for the oven?"

Waffle Iron Potatoes
 Potatoes
Salt (or seasonings to taste)

Heat waffle iron. Slice potatoes (don't bother peeling them unless you don't like the skins) and rub generously with salt. Grease the iron well and cook the potatoes until done- 1 or 2 minutes. Test with a fork to check if they're done.

You know how potatoes usually take forever to cook? These were done in less than 5 minutes.

So if you too need to eat something now and don't have the makings of sandwiches lying around, consider putting what you would have cooked another way on the waffle iron. You'll also get lots of (perfectly orthogonal) crispy brown bits on both sides.
